Myth and Symbolism in Illustration

This course will be meeting Tuesdays at 9:00am hybrid style, student's choice: over zoom, or in-person in rooms B4170 and B4150 (the Cintiq lab). Attendance to either the zoom or classrooms is acceptable.

Week 4: Meeting the Mentor

The hero encounters a mentor that can give them advice, wisdom, information, or items that ready them for the journey ahead.

–     Breakout groups/rooms for Assignment 2

–     Assignment 2: plans for the final
Ask yourselves – is your composition:
- personality/character based?
- place/scene based?
- skill/action based?
Work that combines specific stories and people will be the most successful when you can get the point across without having to rely on super-fans or mythology buffs. The details for the most-informed act as "free-toy-inside" rewards.

Homework

– Complete Assignment 2 Final Artwork
- ASSIGNMENT 2: FINAL ARTWORK UPLOADS
  Upload the following:
  PDF file: One paragraph written description of your musical artist or group (from Part 1).
  JPG or PNG files: Clean images/scans of your 3 initial sketches (from Part 1).
  PDF of Final artwork at 10 x 12 inches, vertical orientation, with 0.125 inch bleed. For-Print Quality: 400 dpi, CMYK colour profile, PDF file with bleed settings on.

  Please upload a web-quality (75dpi) image of your Assignment 2 final to share with your classmates and get/give feedback on.
