Now think of this memory like orange sour-sweet. There was bitterness because my best friend at the time separated without a good goodbye, and because of a lot of different reasons, we lost connection. But what I recall now is mostly happy. I remember that she liked writing very much.

Movie concept poster, revolving around one of my old childhood friends who I've experienced growing up with. Throughout our time growing up I've seen him go through different parts of life figuring himself out, and the struggle of having an identity.

I've chosen to do my story on my old friend Heather. Much of the story talks about her enthusiasm and her love of dogs, as well as her earlier beginnings on her journey to Canada from Scotland. There isn't much to the story, just her love of dogs, friends, nature and cars. I wanted to focus on her primarily but definitely add her dogs and car. 

Jeongin (Jack) Sung

I'm planning to make a movie poster about the friendship between me and my friend Matthew. The background on sketches is all closely connected to a major part of stories or certain episodes based on reference of memories with him. The composition of each sketch illustrates a different theme or genre of the movie. For example, sketch A and C (1 & 3) are more close to showing a combination of a slice of life and emotions. On the other hand sketch, B is possibly used for the Comedy theme.

I had a few ideas that kind of differed away from the zine because the zine didn't touch on a lot of her aspirations and I think that part of her is a more interesting movie idea. The idea of her wanting to have lots of kids. I also thought about her dancing which is also another aspect that could be a fun movie plot. The inspiration came from a lot of the vintage movie posters with "scandalous" women as the forefront. A few options for me to choose from and I am no sure which one to go for yet.

A movie poster about mother’s food. I always believe my mother is the best cooker. Th food that she made is always delicious. I want to illustrate a food themed illustration that is something that I have never tried before.   

Cassandra Carlos

The story is about me and my high school roommate. We came to a strange city in the same year, entered the same high school, same class, and became roommates. It was an amazing adventure for us who had just left parents, we both had more courage to face the unknown thanks to each other's company. This is a story about youth and growing up, a campus memory between us, with happy parts, but more recklessness and conflict, who doesn't make mistakes in their youth. She is seemingly quiet but very calm and even a little bit self-conceit,  near graduation, a very big misunderstanding broke out between us, but also made us not contact for a long time. Until we get to the university, we gradually began to contact, finally resolved the misunderstanding, and became one of the most important people in each other's lives.

The actor I chose was  Min Ren, a very popular actress in China in recent years, very young and with looks and temperament that fit the image of my roommate perfectly.

This is a movie poster idea. It's about my childhood best friend before I moved to Canada. I think we were both too young and didn't understand friendships don't last forever. I thought we could be friends even after we are separated. The posters are showing what I'd imagine we would look like if we were still in the same school. I want these to feel like lost memories. 

Alton Beach-Bradshaw

The story is about my best friend from when I was in middle school! I’m creating a poster for a theatrical circus performance revolving around the story.  The person I'm using to play Pablo is Lucky Blue Smith, a very pretty model who did a fun punk photoshoot for the Rolling Stone.
