Our group chose animals as our theme, so I went with the Siberian weasel for my piece. In northeastern Chinese folklore, Siberian weasel are both feared and revered because of their penchant for trickery and luring humans to their demise. This longstanding belief has also lend itself to a superstition that if one inflicts pain or harm to a weasel, they are capable of acting on vengeance and tragedy will soon fall on the offender.
