Jing-Wen Yuan 

Jing-Wen Yuan is an illustrator who’s greatest accomplishment is getting into Art School and learning to appreciate the small things in life. She likes to sing, walk outside, yoga and tap dance. She grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia and wishes to travel the world to make comics about her adventures. She prefers to work in watercolors and gouache and enjoys drawing conceptual art that features fantastical things from a child’s perspective. Jing-Wen aspires to become a Children’s Book Illustrator and comic artist who can simplify difficult topics into simple concepts. She has an old soul, an overactive brain and a romantic heart.

Yuki Xiang

Yuki is an artist who grow up in SiChuan China currently is living in Canada. The name Yuki was named by her kindergarten teacher. Yuki is a Japanese name that means snow and courage. There are a lot of flexibilities in her illustrations which she created with many material such as in oil paints, pastels, digital and watercolor etc. She says that it is her belief that in order to create a good art piece, artists should constantly be inspired.  For her, an artist need to be stimulated and that in turn help shape their art works. She believes that visual art is much like a language that conveys many different kinds of information. Everyone’s art has its own structures and rules. If people wants to understand the information and the meaning of these works through their eyes, individuals must have a pool of knowledge that lets them interpret what they see. Depending on how people interpret that visual language they may understand each piece differently than what the original artist intended. However, as long as individuals  are inspired, art functions as a timeless piece of communication that connects people beyond time and space.

Alton Beach-Bradshaw

Alton Beach-Bradshaw was born at the tender age of zero in Victoria, BC which is in the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples. He gave up the island life to become an Illustration student at Emily Carr University of Art & Design and found a love of environmental storytelling and character design that lends itself well to his favourite hobby: playing dungeons & dragons. He is also the proud father of many plants, a casual musician and avid music-consumer, and some sort of animal enthusiast. He intends to make a name for himself by inserting whimsy and mystery into the art he creates, and wants to spend his whole life doing collaborative storytelling.

Vera Liu

Vera Liu is a Chinese illustrator residing in Vancouver, British Columbia. Growing up with a passion for manga and concept art, her style is heavily influenced by Japanese illustrators and manga artists.  In addition, Vera creates contrast in her imagery by clashing muted tones with saturated colors. She is best in character illustrations. Aside from her role as an illustrator, she is also an amateur tarot reader in her spare time. She plans to incorporate her tarot practice into her creative practice. 

Joshua Kim

Joshua Kim was born in January 22, 1995, Seoul, South Korea. His interest is taking the viewers into his “fantastical fictional” domain or realm full of pirates, sailors, dolphins and other characters through activities of comparing and contrast, connecting, renditioning and expansion admist of all that, where they convey or move out the important message that moves them into action, though he have sometimes hard time sharing things out. During his free time, he is found daydreaming, walking and running around outdoors and various places that his legs are leading to and reading books. He even prefers connecting his favorite foods to certain ideas, such as spaghetti to aquarium and pork bone stew to watching movies. He now resides near Yaletown, Vancouver, and Surrey, White Rock both with his parents and by himself.  

Jinfeng Yang is an illustrator and a photographer, but most time I’m a photographer . Currently based in Chengdu China. The works now focus on discovering possibilities of photography illustrations, because he thinks he can create works in both illustrations and photographs why not try creating works with illustrations and photographs at the same time. His believes art for him is all about experimenting new ways of communicating, the media of illustrations should never be limited on paper and pens or any default working methods.

Liangwen Qin

Liangwen Qin is an illustrator from China. She graduated from Emily Carr Art and Design University. Her illustration style tends to be manga and anime style, and her main creation direction is comic and editorial art. Meanwhile, she likes questioning and debating, she always thinks about social and cultural issues. In addition to creating commercial illustrations, she incorporates representation about her own thinking in her art creation. She hopes to show her ideas through illustration, and also hopes that the public can taste some ideology and value worth thinking about when appreciating those illustrations.

Xinyi Zhao

Xinyi Zhao is an illustrator who grew up in China. She loves drawing and started to learn it around age of 5. She is a formalism perfectionist but has a romantic understanding of the world. Her works are full of smooth lines and gradient color blocks, which is her main style for now. Her professional aspiration lies in commercial illustration such as decorative illustration, poster design, magazine/book illustration, and clothing pattern. She usually looks for inspiration in video games, magazines, and social media. Because she hopes to communicate with outside world with her aesthetic interpretation of popular culture.

Kira Mitchell

Kira Mitchell is an illustrator who was born and raised in North Vancouver; being influenced by her grandfather's paintings of goblins, dragons and other creatures, she pursued a career in art. She aspires to become a tattoo artist and work as an illustrator. Her works primarily focus on mythology, fantasy, portraiture, and nature. The mediums she enjoys most are digital and oil painting; she also has experience in other traditional mediums. When Kira isn't creating fantastic fantasy works, she enjoys camping, going for drives and hiking with her fiancé and two Pomeranians.

Auto Guarin is a character illustrator and designer, based in Canada. They are experienced in traditional mediums such as watercolour and ink, but prefer to work digitally. In their practice, they enjoy creating fun and lively characters in hopes to showcase unique stories through them. Having a large interest in people, they believe that traits that we envy of others, we may already possess ourselves but are just unaware. Over the years, Auto has taken pride in learning more about themself as an artist, and as a person. Currently living at their desk, Auto is often jamming to music with a book nearby, or waiting to impulsively place stickers on anything or anyone near them.
