The story I describe takes place in China, which is my real experience. I met a friend in sophomore year of high school. I had just moved to a new class. As an introvert, I dared not make friends with my classmate until I saw her watching cartoons on the computer. I felt I had found someone to talk to, so I plucked up the courage to make friends with her. However, I later learned that she was isolated and bullied in class, and I was her only friend. This friendship lasted three years. We had a lot of fun, but we also had a lot of problems. She is aesthetically fat for a body, and her hobbies and personality do not fit the definition of women in traditional standards. I am a "good girl" in the eyes of traditional Chinese parents and teachers. We grew apart after high school, not because we had a huge conflict, but because we belonged to different worlds.

I chose to create a poster for a youth comedy film about Chinese girls. This film will be made in China, because the growth and suffering of the protagonist I choose are closely related to the shackles of traditional Chinese society on women, and this kind of genre is popular in contemporary China and has successful precedents.

The actress I chose to play the leading role is Jia Ling. She is a very famous Chinese female comedy film actress. Last year, her film "Hello, Li Huanying" earned 5.413 billion yuan at the Chinese box office.

My story is about my childhood friend and the relationship I had with him growing up and then growing apart. For the play, it is about the coming of age film about a young Asian boy growing up and having to go through everyday life and learning along the way how to let go of friends and of the past to become a more confident person. For the actor, I chose Forrest Wheeler, who played the character of the younger brother in Fresh off the boat. I haven’t come up with a title for the play yet, but possibly something humorous, like Don’t leave me, or Growing up like ABC. (Asian born Canadian)

My story is inspired by one of my childhood friend. She is a free-spirit girl who is often misunderstood by others. She spends most of her time on the swings, so that she can be above “all the haters” and reach the sky.

The caster I chose for this character is Haocun Liu, a highly controversial actress who is hated by many. I think her personality echoes with this character.

With these posters, I decided to focus on poses of characters. And in those poses, I want to add more detailed pieces of stories told in the zine done in part 1. Having all the characters that were crucial to the main characters storied were important to add in the scene. I got some inspiration from posters that involved lots of "bunches' of characters in the composition. Such as Huckleberry Finn (1974), Dillinger (1973), and The Spikes Gang (1974). There were some environmental storytelling or just stylistic things I liked. Like the multiple image overlay in The Magic Garden of Stanley Sweetheart's poster (1970) or The Badlands (1974) with the coloured background and black silhouetted foreground. Also getting some inspiration from Wes Anderson films, wanting to center the main character(s) on the composition. I want to try and give the sense that not a lot happens in the environment but there is still adventure. The stories taking place in small towns where not a lot happens. But intrigue may be influenced by the attire or objects of the characters in the piece (as well as a good title and cast).

For the first one, I am going in an Anime film version and other twos are going in a same style as works like <Space Jam> and new <Tom and Jerry> movie, cross between a live action and an animated characters, which will be the two dog shaped fairies/sprites/angels who will watch over and follow the story of me and Song Hye In, my childhood friend. I decided to do with dogs for I like the dog characters not only involved but also since they are funny and outcast, can be a comfort for the character in problem or in sad need.

This is the edited version of my sketches for the poster. I want the film that I make poster of are going in an atmosphere and theme of both humour and heartwarming; there are humorous moments, but when there are themes like friendship and its meaning and other meaningful moments, it can touch viewer or audience's hearts.

The story is about my friendship with a girl named Anya. I met her in cram school. So we weren't in the same high school and we had our own social circles, but we kept in touch at that time. When we entered university, we almost stopped messaging each other until one day I saw her post a picture of herself dancing ballet on stage on social media. I remember being told that Anya used to be a great dancer, and that really encouraged me. I reached out to her and then we went out for shopping last year. We found that we had grown a lot with each other.

I chose Chinese actress Zhang Huiwen to play her. They are very similar in appearance, height and weight, and Zhang Huiwen graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy.
