Today we went the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIPPA) and how it applies to students. In particular, we looked at how to use collaboration tools (Miro & Jamboard) while following FIPPA regulations. In the live session, we talked about including a privacy notice which I have included below and will also post in the course.

[Jamboard/Miro] stores or accesses your personal information outside Canada. To protect your privacy, you can join anonymously. If you are an account holder of [Google/Miro] please logout of [Google/Miro] to join anonymously. If you do not have an account with [Google/Miro] you will join anonymously automatically.

To access Jamboard go to jamboard.google.com. You will need a gmail account to use it. To access Miro you can create or sign up for an educational license here https://miro.com/education-whiteboard/. For more details on how to use Jamboard and Miro, and follow FIPPA,  watch the live session recording.
