Common Questions (PCoIP)

How can I add existing files to the remote PC?

To upload existing files, we recommend that you first install and sign into the OneDrive client application on your primary home computer (use your Emily Carr email and myEC password to sign into Onedrive). Then, using your home computer, copy existing media into the OneDrive directory. Once you confirm that the upload has completed, initiate a PCoIP session and OneDrive will automatically sign in on the remote PC. You will see all of your uploaded media available on demand. Simply click any of these files and it will sync to the remote PC.

How do I use my cintiq/tablet on the remote PC?

For your cintiq/tablet to be properly used by the remote PC, you must do this process before launching your animation/drawing/modeling program: go to Connection > USB Devices... and check the box "Show Human Interface Devices, Devices that are auto-forwarded are not affected by this checkbox", hit Connect next to your cintiq/tablet, Hit OK to the pop-up window that says "When you make a USB device available to your remote host, it is disabled on your computer." and the remote computer will then set up the device as if it is physically connected. You should experience pen pressure and smoother brush strokes. Note: Tablet will disconnect when switching between dual and single monitor mode. Reconnect device when this happens.
