If you are using Maya on a Mac, finding your scripts might not be as simple as it is on a PC. This is because Macs with newer OS's have the "Library" folder with all your application data hidden! This page will give you a few methods to access your Library folder and find your scripts.

The address for Maya scripts on a Mac: [username]/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/[maya version]/scripts


Method 1:

In the Finder, hold down the Option key when using the Go menu. Library will appear below the current user's home directory.

Note:

After you open the Library folder, you can drag the Library icon from the top of that window to the Dock, sidebar, or toolbar to make it readily accessible.


Method 2:

  1. In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder.

  2. In the Go To Folder dialog box, type ~/Library

  3. Click Go.


Method 3: Unhide Library folder

 Unhide the Library folder using the Finder view options:

  1. Open a new Finder window.
  2. Navigate to Macintosh HD > Users > [your login].
  3. Select View > Show View Options from the Finder menu bar.

4. In the View Options dialog box, check the box next to  Show Library Folder.
5. Once the Show Library Folder option is selected, you will be able to see the Library  folder from the Go drop-down menu in the Finder menu bar.
