This course is designed to assist students in the second year of their Master's degree in the writing of their thesis project. Through a series of assistive exercises and class discussions, students are encouraged to theorise their practices and find a voice that assists the telling of their processes, outcomes and capabilities. Through this they are also guided through the critical aspects of thesis writing, which include understandings how to structure of a dissertation, employ a referencing style across all aspects of their document, and explore how design research presents differently from other academic research.
At the end of this course, students should feel confident about writing the remainder of their document, envisaging it as an artefact, and presenting it in a style that is consistent and apposite.
