Inclusive considerations in product and service design are becoming a priority and part of the mission and values for many businesses and organizations. In the public sector, accessibility to digital information and public spaces or services factors in various disabilities people (users) face when interacting with built environments, products, and services. In this class, we will explore obtaining an understanding of accessibility, some of the real-world experiences people go through daily, and how we can learn from these discoveries and insights to become better designers of user experience. By the end of the course, students should be able to apply their understanding of inclusive design and accessibility guidelines, know when and how to go about seeking insights when needed, design for inclusive and accessible experiences, engaging in best practices of collecting and sharing documentation, as well as communicating feedback with others along the way.
