This assignment is worth 60% of your final grade, so please do not leave it all till the final few weeks. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to post them in our Discord server or Moodle.
Goals for this assignment:
● Create a realistic, production quality asset surfacing based on a real life object
● Quality & Detail high enough for close up shots, as a hero asset
● Present the asset with an appropriate lookdev turntable or setup
The assignment will be graded by the following:
● Texture quality
● Material quality/realism
● Match object reference images
● Final Submission matches the Submission requirements
There will be a number of milestones throughout the semester to help make sure everyone stays on track throughout the semester. Rushed work is rarely high quality, and low quality work = low grades. So make sure you hit each of the milestones.
The milestones are worth 35% of your final grade.
Milestone 1 - Choosing your models
Milestone 2 - Taking/finding refs
Milestone 3 - Models and UV finalized and start texturing
Milestone 4 - Lookdev turntable and setup
Milestone 5 - First pass texture and lookdev
