WELCOME TO:

VAST-400-F035-2021: Senior Studio (Open Studio)

This course is designed to facilitate the development of a self-directed body of independently produced work in the student’s medium of choice, through a written proposal to be agreed upon between the student and the instructors.

Through the dialogue of tutorial meetings with each instructor, and group critiques, students will develop an increased confidence in articulating, with critical awareness, their process, concepts/ideas, and intentions.  Research, experimentation, presentation, and context will be encouraged toward the production of an evolved body of work. Students are required to write a proposal outlining their individual projects for the term. Proposals should include the following: project description, (medium, process, content/main concepts), goals, anticipated challenges, questions that need answers, suggestions of initial research. A list of work with self-analysis will be required at the end of the course.
