Can technology help people work through feelings of stress, anxiety, and fear, towards a safer and improved state of well-being? What is the designer’s role in developing new digital experiences to bridge the gap between technology-centric interactions and a holistic sense of well-being? These questions are indicative of a cultural perspective on a connected society, and the potentials of emerging technologies to help us navigate the challenges we face each day.

This studio course will focus on the theme of mental health to explore emerging technologies within the mixed reality spectrum and the impact on stakeholders, communication and material components of a service. Students will gather insights from evidence based research and implement a service design methodology to develop new interactions rooted in meaningful, healthy human experiences.
