Yutaro Kubo graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Film and New Media, Department of Animation in 2014.
He utilizes drawing on paper for the production of his short animations. His films have shown internationally at the Annecy, Ottawa, and Zagreb Animation Festivals. “Kicking Rocks” won Best Online Prize at PISAF 2013 in South Korea. “00:08” won Best Gallery Film at Anima Mundi 2014 in Brazil.
He is a member of the Japan Animation Association and is currently on an artist residency in Vancouver for a year. Many of you have met Yutaro already. This is an opportunity to see his work.
