What are ways in which our Emily Carr community can indigenize our academy at all levels in a meaningful productive way? What are the differences between decolonizing the academy and indigenizing the academy?

I feel like a bit of a broken record in these comments, but I think the first step to indigenizing our academy is to be quiet and listen. Designing curriculum, developing new approaches to pedagogy and learning, incorporating Aboriginal content into existing courses--all of these might be part of the answer. I would like to hear from our Aboriginal faculty and students as well as the many researchers, thinkers and storytellers in the areas of indigenizing the academy to guide us in this work. I for one am happy to shut and listen, for a change!
