(This feedback was gathered by ECSU at two sessions that included ECSU board directors, student representatives on University Committees, Graduate students, and Foundation year and other students. Including it here verbatim.) KL

"Students have attended the following events: Indigenous Talking Circle, Moccasin making workshop, Aboriginal Student Art Exhibit, and Luke Parnell’s Aboriginal Material Practice class (not offered anymore)

They also attended and had feedback for the following events:

  • Poets for Peace- A great event and way to give back to the community while supporting anti-oil efforts (Site C Dam and NoDAPL)
  • Apology Dice- This felt like a safe space to speak and learn

Students feel strongly that Indigenous events and courses should be widely discussed and publicized to students. There are some others who did not realize the events were open to non-Indigenous students and that they could access the Aboriginal Gathering Place as a non-Indigenous person."
